Setup
Assembly: The fountain arrives in several pieces. Set the base first, then seat the tiers in sequence. Assembly is not a one-person job.
Installation: No plumbing or burial installation is required.
Base: The ground needs to be level and solid before assembly. A prepared pad or existing paving is recommended. A fountain that is out of plumb can send water off one side of each rim rather than around it, and on soft or uneven ground the weight can settle unevenly over time.
Maintenance
Mineral Deposits: In hard water areas, a light mineral film can appear along the wet rims sooner on a dark finish than on a pale one. Wipe it away as it appears, using a soft brush and water. Keep harsh liquid cleaners off the surface.
Sun Exposure: Like any dark finish, it will gradually soften under years of continuous direct sun. A location with some afternoon shade helps the finish retain its depth longer.
Winter Storage: Before hard freezes, drain all three tiers and the basin completely, disconnect the pump and store it indoors, and let the fountain dry fully. Covering the fountain helps keep rain and snow from refilling the bowls.
Safety
Use Around Children and Pets: Do not climb on the fountain, and do not let children hang on the upper bowls. Route the power cord along a bed edge or wall to avoid a tripping hazard, and use a protected outdoor outlet. The recirculating water is not intended for drinking.
