Description
A v-shaped base anchors this modern, minimalist take on the traditional lover's sculpture. The base is meant to represent the unity of love, and the geometric shapes and flowing lines depict two figures moving together as partners.
The sculpture is hand carved in Zimbabwe from serpentine stone, using traditional Shona methods. The artisans select and quarry their own stone, carve it with simple chisels, polish it with sand and beeswax, and heat it over a fire to bring out the stone's natural coloring.
